Every December, something magical happens in Conway, South Carolina. As the air turns chilly and the days grow shorter, Conway sparkles to life like it stepped right out of a storybook. Twinkling lights line the streets, cheerful music fills the air, and the whole town feels wrapped in holiday joy.
Our Kidding Around Contributor, Rebecca, brought her family to visit Conway at Christmas, and she has all the details for you below!
When the Lights Turn On
The fun kicks off with the Great Conway Christmas Light Switch-On. Families gather in the town square, sipping warm cocoa and counting down together. When the lights glow on all at once—on trees, shops, and rooftops—everyone cheers. It really does feel like magic!
Conway at Christmas ends on December 31st with a New Year’s Eve Fireworks display!
Walk through the Amazing Lights in Conway
Our favorite thing to do when visiting Conway at Christmas is to stroll through downtown and the Christmas Village. Conway’s downtown is fully decorated with so many colorful lights. It’s cheerful and fun, and a great way to get a little Fa-La-La-La-La boost if you’re needing one this time of year.
