A Colorful Celebration at Santi’s Restaurante Mexicano

Posted on |

Walking into Santi’s Restaurante Mexicano in West Ashley feels like stepping into a happy celebration every single day! This place REALLY knows how to decorate. Before you even sit down, your eyes start dancing around the room because there is so much to see — and with three fun Lowcountry locations, it’s easier than ever for families to join the fiesta! (Plus, the food is really good, too!)

Kidding Around’s Rebecca is sharing what her family loves about Santi’s below, plus photos of their awesome, ever-changing seasonal decor.

Valentine's Day at Santis

Bright, Fun Decor All Year Long

Santi’s is full of bright colors, cheerful artwork, and decorations that make the restaurant feel warm and exciting. The walls are lively, the space feels festive, and everything is designed to make families feel welcome. It’s the kind of place where kids love to look around while waiting for their food because there’s always something fun to notice.

Some decorations feel playful and mod, like you’re at a party instead of just out to eat. The lighting and colorful details make the whole restaurant feel happy and full of energy.

Having a busy three-year-old with limited screen time sometimes makes for a difficult wait on dinner, so I Spy is the game of choice while we wait for our meals. The restaurant ceiling is packed with such random and colorful items, I too have to take a minute to search for the “chosen” I Spy item!

Holiday Magic at Santi’s

One of the coolest things about Santi’s is how it transforms for every season — and right now, it’s looking especially love-ly.

Valentine's Day at Santi's in Charleston, SC

For Valentine’s Day, the whole place is decked out like Cupid’s favorite hangout. Think pink and red hearts, sweet details, and cozy touches that feel extra fun and festive for kids and grown-ups alike. The décor stretches from wall to ceiling, with bold colors and holiday whimsy everywhere you look.

Kids especially love visiting during holiday seasons because the decorations make the whole experience more like an event than just dinner out.

Patio Vibes & Party Feel

Some Santi’s locations also have outdoor seating, which makes it feel like a party in the fresh air. Whether inside or outside, the decorations help turn an ordinary meal into a special experience.

A Little Taste of Fun

After exploring all the decorations, kids love digging into favorites like:

  • Crunchy chips and salsa
  • Cheesy quesadillas (Hollis’ top pick!)
  • Fun-sized tacos perfect for little hands

But honestly, the decorations are such a big part of the adventure that they’re almost as exciting as the food!

For the adults: The portions are so large my husband and I often opt to share a burrito grande. However, I’ve also ordered chicken chimichangas, the wet burrito dinner, and the queso fundido, and all have been great.

Why Kids Love Santi’s

Santi’s isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a place where every day feels like a celebration. With bold, colorful décor, exciting holiday themes like Valentine’s Day, and a fun, family-friendly atmosphere, it’s a spot kids remember long after the meal is over.

If you love bright colors, holiday cheer, and places that feel happy and welcoming, Santi’s is a restaurant adventure you won’t forget!
