Pink Everything (and Plenty to Keep Kids Busy)

My daughter’s favorite features were the pinball machines, the photo booth, and the beachfront. Honestly, it’s easy to see why. There’s even a neon flamingo sign, and the fun doesn’t stop there.
Inside, the pink goes all in: Cadillac booths, a pink pool table, and pinball machines, plus a custom surf mural by Charleston art collective Girls Who Paint, according to Visit Folly Beach.

What We Ate
The food was great! I got the Mahi tacos, my daughter got chicken tenders and fries, and my husband got a bacon chicken sandwich. Everything was terrific.

If your little one is a chicken tender fan too, the Lil Eats menu serves them with fries for $10. The rest of the kids’ menu runs $9 to $10: a grilled cheese with fries ($9), a cheeseburger with fries ($10), and mac and cheese ($9). The kids’ menu also has Frozen Treats, including the Shark Bite (blue Gatorade, lemonade, grenadine, and a shark gummy) for $9 and virgin daiquiris in piña colada, strawberry, or mango for $8.
Grown-ups have plenty of choices, too. The Fried Chicken Sandwich, loaded with cheddar and bacon on a brioche bun, is $17, and pizzas start at $15 for the Classic Cheese. See the full Pinky’s menu for everything on offer.

Tip: Happy hour runs Monday through Thursday, 4 to 6 pm, and includes a $10 pizza (choose Classic Cheese, Pepperoni, or Veggie) and $9 cheesy garlic bread. That’s a budget-friendly way to feed the family!
Walk the Beach After Lunch
The atmosphere is so fun. While we waited on our food, Hollis played the pinball machines, and afterwards we walked on the beach and collected shells. That’s the best part of eating right on the sand: when everyone’s done, the beach is right there.

Good to know: Pinky’s calls itself Folly Beach’s one-and-only oceanfront bar and eatery, with live music throughout the week and a party lineup after dark. Coming up this month are a Full Moon Party on Saturday, October 24, and a Halloween Bash with a costume contest on Saturday, October 31 (live music starts at 12 pm).
All October long, Pinky’s is donating $1 to MUSC Hollings Cancer Center for every Pink Cadillac margarita and every pizza sold, and says it will match the total at the end of the month. Check the Pinky’s on the Beach website for the current week’s music lineup.
Rebecca’s Verdict
Great food, a fun atmosphere, pinball, and the beach right outside the door: Pinky’s checked every box for our family. It really is a girl’s dream on the beachfront! The catch: it’s also a bar, and the evenings lean party, so if you’re bringing little ones, we’d stick to lunch or an early dinner.
