Posted on |

Looking for a fun Friday night out with the whole family this summer? Party at the Point is Charleston’s longest-running beach concert series, now celebrating its 26th season in 2026! Local mom, Rebecca, brought her family to Party at the Point, and now she’s sharing all the details on tickets, parking, what to bring, and which bands are playing so you can plan a great evening on the sand.

If you haven’t been to Party at the Point yet, you’re seriously missing out. Every Friday evening from April through mid-July, the beachfront at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina transforms into one big happy hour party, and yes, it is absolutely family-friendly. Think live music, sand between your toes, food trucks, cold drinks, and kids dancing like nobody’s watching. It’s the kind of summer night that makes you love living in the Lowcountry.

What to Expect at Party at the Point

Party at the Point is held right on the beach at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina, which sits along the Mount Pleasant waterfront with gorgeous views of Charleston Harbor. The vibe is relaxed, the crowd is friendly, and the music is loud enough to dance to but not so loud that you can’t hear yourself talk.

There’s food and drinks available for purchase on site, so you don’t need to worry about packing dinner. Spread out a blanket, set up your chairs, and settle in for the evening. The kids will find their way to the sand in no time, and honestly? You might find yourself dancing right along with them.

Why It’s Great for Families

This is one of those events where parents actually get to relax. The beachfront setting means the kids have a built-in playground (hello, sand!), and the event organizers say they see kids having a blast dancing and playing all evening long. It’s all ages welcome, from babies to teenagers, and the atmosphere is genuinely family-friendly.

At $15 per adult with kids 12 and under free, it’s also a pretty affordable Friday night out for the whole crew. Compare that to most concert venues, and you’re getting live music, a beach setting, and a fun evening for a fraction of the cost.

The 2026 Lineup

The 2026 season features 14 shows with a great mix of tribute bands and party bands. Here are some of the acts you can look forward to:

  • East Coast Party Band – Named Mt. Pleasant’s “Musical Ambassadors” by the Town Council, they play everything from Carolina Beach Music to classic Rock and Roll
  • Highway Boys (Zach Bryan Tribute) – The #1 Zach Bryan tribute band in the country, with an 8-piece band that captures the energy of his live shows
  • On the Border (Eagles Tribute) – Five-part harmonies and note-for-note renditions of all the Eagles hits
  • Mr. Fahrenheit (Queen Tribute) – A Charleston-based Queen tribute band known for explosive, high-energy performances
  • Departure (Journey Tribute) – Celebrating 17+ years together as the most respected Journey tribute band in the nation

Parking and Getting There

Free parking is available along the road leading into Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina. There’s also additional paid parking now available directly across from the resort entrance, which is handy if the free spots fill up (and they do on popular nights, so arrive early).

If you’d rather skip the parking situation altogether, there’s an Uber and Lyft drop-off area just 50 yards from the entrance. Another fun option? Take the Charleston Water Taxi from downtown. Water taxis depart from Aquarium Wharf (every hour on the half hour) and Waterfront Park (every hour at quarter past) and drop off at the Charleston Harbor Marina.

Tip: The water taxi is a really fun way to get there with kids. They’ll love the boat ride across the harbor, and you’ll skip the parking hassle entirely. Taxis run until 8 PM.

What to Bring (and What to Leave at Home)

This is a beach event, so dress and pack accordingly.

Bring: Blankets, towels, lawn chairs, sunscreen, and your dancing shoes.

Leave at home: Coolers, outside food and beverages, and pets. (We know, we love our furry friends too, but it’s a safety thing.)

Tips for Families: Party at the Point

  • Arrive early. Gates open at 5 PM and the best spots on the sand go fast. Music doesn’t start until 6, so you’ll have time to get settled and grab food first.
  • Bring a blanket or chairs for the whole family. The beachfront fills up and you’ll want a home base for the evening.
  • Sunscreen is a must, even for a 5 PM start. That Lowcountry sun is still going strong in the early evening.
  • Buy tickets online in advance to skip the line at the door. Tickets are $15 online ($19.26 with fees) or $15 cash at the gate.
  • Plan for a sand-covered ride home. Bring a towel for the car seats. Trust us on this one.
